The two events in Lincoln ,the race on Saturday and the dance and the silent auction on Friday, raised over $15,000 as the proceeds for the 8th Annual Devon’s Beat 5K Run goes to heart screening. They have screened over 700 kids over the course of this worth while event.
The runners raced through the streets of Lincoln starting at 9:00 A.M. Even though it was hot, the heat wasn’t a big factor but there were some thirsty runners along the way. Water was supplied by volunteer crew members at various locations. Also, we wish to thank the Lincoln police department for their support for overseeing the event.
As far as the turnout and proceeds were concerned,  Angela Parrott, the director and Devon’s mother, commented, “ It was better than I expected with the virus and the fact that I had to change it twice. We wish to thank everyone who had a part. “
