American Legion Post #217 News

The American Legion invites all members and their guests to come out and enjoy the activities at the post.   The post hours are 11:00am-8:00pm, Monday thru Saturday.   Hours can be extended depending on activities and patronage.  
We have several activities throughout the week and encourage our members, guests and community to come on out and enjoy!
The  first and third  Tuesdays of the  month are Taco Tuesday from 11:00am-4:00pm, or while supplies last. Starting 12/6/22, music will be provided by The Treble Makers consisting of Jim Lybarger and Bob Cook!  They play country, blues, old rock  and 50’s music!  They will play from 1-3:00pm.  Come on out and enjoy the great music and food! 
Wednesday is Pitch day starting at 1:00pm and  on Fridays at 1:00pm.  Wednesday night is also Cornhole night starting at 6:00pm.  Come on out and sharpen your skills while having fun! 
Shooting sports is available on Thursdays at 1:00pm. Thursday night is shuffleboard night at 6:30pm.   
Friday night is Hillbilly Bingo night at 6:00pm.  Come on out and try your luck!   Kitchen will be open on Friday with some type of food being served.   
Saturday is open pool.

December 3 is the Sons of the American Legion & Friends Toy Run benefiting the kids of Benton County! There will be 3 bands!  Admission is to bring a girl or boy toy or give a monetary donation!   Social hour at 5:00pm and bands start at 6:00pm.  There is a list of needs at the Legion.  Call the Legion if you have any questions.  
On January 5,  the Legion is having a Blood drive from 1-5:00pm. All donors will receive a Chiefs shirt!  Call Kathy Carr at (816) 560-3314 for questions or for info on how to sign up!  Walk-ins will be welcome, although  pre-registration is preferred! 
The Legion is open on the KC Chiefs game days!  Come help us cheer them on to victory!  Bring a snack!   GO CHIEFS! 
Please keep in mind that the American Legion takes all necessary precautions to give our members and guests a save environment.  Please do not come out if you are not feeling well!  
The American Legion Post 217 members and the Ladies Auxiliary meet on the 2nd Monday of the month at 7:00pm.  The Sons of the American Legion  meet on the 4th Monday of the month.  The Riders meet the 3rd Wednesdays at 6:00pm.  Come on out and see what's happening and how you can help!

A reminder that we have a smoke free hall that can be rented out for all your special events!  Smoking is allowed in the Lounge or outside. You can call the Legion at (660) 438-6928 if interested.    
We would like to thank everyone that comes out to enjoy our post and our activities/dinners!  Without our members, guests and volunteers, we would not be able to help our Veterans and our community!
