Anna Jean McMurtry

 
Anna Jean McMurtry, age 85, of Warsaw, MO, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at Rest Haven Nursing Home in Sedalia, MO. She was born on October 18, 1932, in Low Gap, Arkansas, the daughter of Thomas Louis Alvin and Marion Cleo (Villines) Kilgore.
As a young girl she moved with her family to Kansas City, MO. It was there that she was united in marriage to Robert E. McMurtry, Sr. They made their home in the Kansas City area. Unto this union, five children were born.
Anna worked for Pryor Brass in Kansas City as an assembly line worker. After moving to Warsaw in 1972, she worked for a short time at Rival Manufacturing Plant. She then became employed by West Central Missouri Community Action Agency as a supervisor, retiring after 20 years of service. For the past three years, Anna has been a resident of Rest Haven Nursing Home in Sedalia.
Anna was a member of the Lighthouse of Jesus Christ Pentecostal Church of Warsaw. She loved fishing and hunting mushrooms but most of all, spending time with her devoted family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert, and three sisters, Delphine, Margie and Gracie.
She is survived by five children, Sheila Ann McMurtry and companion, Karl Cannon, of Sedalia, Cynthia Lynn (Ronnie) Dickey, Sr., Robert E. McMurtry, Jr., Marion Renee Roberts and Lisa Joy (Nick) Felicione, all of Warsaw, 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Thomas Louis Kilgore, Jr., and Alvin Kilgore, both of Weaubleau, MO, a sister, Linda Joyce Scola of Kansas City, MO and a half-sister, Orabell Farmer of Arkansas, many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, January 27, 2018 at the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw, MO, with visitation beginning at 9:30 A.M. Graveside services and interment will be in the Shawnee Cemetery, Warsaw.
