Anna L. Avey

Anna Lu Avey, 78, of Lincoln, died Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at her home.  She was born on September 12, 1940, in Siloam Springs, Missouri, a daughter of Ralph and Grace (Dollins) Harring.
In April of 1966, in Independence, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Larry Lyle Avey.  While living in Independence, she worked for Rival Manufacturing, Bendan and Fletcher, and a records distribution warehouse.
She moved to Sweet Springs, worked at Wilson’s Processing Plant in Marshall and upholstered furniture and boat seats.  In the late 1990’s, she moved with her family to the lake and worked at the antique malls in Lincoln and Warsaw.  She loved her family and her animals and enjoyed collecting antiques and going bowling.
She is survived by:  her loving husband of 53 years, Larry Avey of the home; a daughter, Kathy Doyle and her husband Don of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; a son, Larry Avey, Jr. and his wife Martha of Mora; four sisters, Bonnie Kruse of Independence, Myrene Friend of Isabella, Mary Walker of Florida, and Lillie Mae Brown of Olathe, Kansas; three brothers, Kenneth Harring of Excelsior Springs, Harold Harring of West Plains, and Rickey Harring of West Plains; three grandchildren, Jimmy Bahr and his wife Candance, Chandra Elder and Lane Avey; seven great-grandchildren, Trinity and Colt Koch, Heaven and Gavin Epperson, Lexi Elder, Emily Elder, Hope Bahr, Cherish Bahr, and Brennan Bahr; two great-great grandchildren, Braydon Epperson and Allie Pena; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Grace Harring, a son, Ronnie Wayne Jewell, two sisters, Carolyn Harring and Evelyn Strickland, and four brothers, Charles Harring, Willie Harring, Lester Harring and Melvin Harring.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 22, 2019, at the Fox Funeral Home, Cole Camp, with Rev. Nicholas Gray officiating.  Burial will be in Brushy Cemetery, near Lincoln.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorial contributions be given to Brushy Cemetery or Countryside Eagles Lodge in care of the Fox Funeral Home, Cole Camp.
Pallbearers will be Don Doyle, Jimmy Bahr, Lane Avey, Ryan Wolf, Donnie Wolf, Tim Avey, Jeff Avey, Scott Marriott, Allen Avey, and Matt Avey.
