The Skyline Lady Tigers defeated Blue Eye 67-30 on Saturday evening at Drury College in Springfield Mo. to earn their sixth straight trip back to the final four. Senior Kaylee DaMitz, three time all state, led the way with 29 points. Blue Eye (24-6) went nearly seven minutes with a field goal but back to back threes brought them back to 16-9 after one. Skyline led by 18 at the half and had a running clock to start the fourth at 58-28.
In a big surprise to most local fans, Sacred Heart, the number one ranked boys team in class two went down in defeat to Mid- Buchanan 48-46 in the quarterfinals to move onto the big dance.
Hogan Prep dismantled Versailles, who won Warsaw’s district,82-64 and beat Maryville on Saturday 57-47 to move to the final four this week.
The Skyline Boys lost to Spokane in the finals of their district last week.
In any event, all of the local teams are gone except Skyline, who will play Neelyville this Thursday.
