Anytime you have two Benton County teams hooking up on the football field, needless to say, it is for bragging rights for the whole year. Last Friday’s game was a dandy, but when all was said and done, the Lincoln Cardinals, now 8-1, defeated the Cole Camp Bluebirds, now  5-4,  28-21 in Cole Camp.
The game was tied 7-7 after one quarter, but the Cardinals would pull ahead to lead 21-13 at the half. Lincoln scored in the third period while the Bluebirds scored in the fourth.
While Cole Camp stats were unavailable at press time, the Lincoln Cardinals sent in the following information.
Quarterback Bo Kroenke went 7-17 for 120 yards passing and one interception. Jackson Beaman, who is still recovering from surgery to his right arm, went 1-1 for eight yards and one TD. The fiery junior had 18 carries for 78 yards and three rushing TD’s on the night. With Beaman back to close to 100 percent, teams are going to feel the full force of the Lincoln attack.
On the defensive side, Levi Betts and Parker Engles had 12 tackles each while Nate Hesse had nine. Landon Bond and Joe Bittner each had an interception. The always tough Gage Kahler was 17-91 rushing. Hesse was 2-66 receiving and Beaman was 2-31.
Lincoln will host Sherwood  and Cole Camp will host Crest Ridge this Friday in district play.
