Carol Ann Gibson

Carol Ann Gibson, age 78, of Warsaw, Missouri, passed away at her home on Thursday, November 24, 2022.  She was born in Moline, Illinois, on November 6, 1944, the daughter of Charles and Meta Brown Coutteau. 
 
She was raised around the Moline area and attended E. Moline High School and worked as a waitress beginning when she was 14 at the Maid-rite Restaurant.  On August 24, 1963, in Oceanside, California, she was united in marriage to Charles Gibson.  They made their home in California for another year while he was in the Marine Corps and moved back to Moline in 1964 where unto this union, five children were born.  Carol was mostly a homemaker but also cooked for some organizations and was a caregiver for a few elderly people.  In 1996, they moved to their retirement home near Warsaw, Missouri. 
 
Carol was an active member of the Paradise Point Ladies Club, she also was a diehard Chicago Cubs fan, loved to fish, cook, play bingo and spend time with family.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Justin and Charles Coutteau, and her husband’s parents, Ward and Mildred Ruth Gibson.
 
She is survived by her husband, Chuck, of the home, five children, Mary (Mark) Thompson, Scott Gibson, Theresa (Bill) Latting, Ronald Gibson, and Rebecca (Chris) Kunzle.  She is also survived by seventeen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. 
 
A funeral service for Carol will be held on Friday, December 2, 2022 at the Reser Funeral Home in Warsaw. Visitation will begin at 1:00 P.M. and the service will follow at 2:00 P.M. Memorials in her honor can be made to the Knights of Columbus,  in care of the funeral home.
