Chance For Fun Is No Gamble With Channel Hop Poker Run

The Warsaw Shrine Club raised $1,206.00 at their recent Annual  Channel Hop Poker Run held on the Lake of the Ozarks. Stops on the Poker Run included the Old Oar House, Buck Naked, Cardinal Cove, Holiday Hills, Possum Hollar, Moonies, Fatties, Surfside and Skippers. Buck Naked Marina helped coordinate the event and disburse the funds.
The participants either go by boat, which amounted to 23 miles of water, or by land. They started at the 81 mile marker.
According to Shrine Club member Chuck Allcorn, "People have a really good time at this event and at the same time they're helping with a good cause. "
Each participant paid $15.00 to play. Half of the money went to the winner and half of the money went to the Shrine Club. The Shrine Club will utilize those funds to help with the kids in Benton County who are in need. This includes the purchase of coats, clothing, shoes and other necessities.
The Shrine Club relies on information provided by area schools and social services to determine the children who are in need.
