Cole Camp Police Chief
From April 16, 2018 to April 22, 2018 Cole Camp Police Officers have done the following activities:
-Officers arrested three subjects in the 600 block of West Grother Street for distributing a controlled substance within 2,000 feet of a school.  All three subjects were transported to the Benton County Jail and placed on a 24 hour hold pending the filing of formal charges.
-Officers stopped a vehicle in the 200 block of South Spring Street for a registration violation.  Upon further investigation, officers seized marijuana from the vehicle.  The subject was issued citations for possession of marijuana, failure to register motor vehicle, and failure to maintain financial responsibility.
-Responded to the 100 block of South Maple Street for an alarm.  No emergency was found.
-Assisted Missouri State Highway Patrol with a report of a careless driver.  Upon further investigation, it was determined the careless driving began around the Smithton area.  
-Officers conducted a traffic stop on Peach Street at Highway 52 on a subject with an active warrant for their arrest out of Cole Camp.  The subject was also cited for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended driver’s license.  The subject was transported to the Benton County Jail.
-Responded to a well begin check in the 400 block of West Osage.  Subject was contacted by Cole Camp EMS and determined everything was okay.
-Provided traffic control during the 5K Run/Walk.
-Issued citations for exceeding the posted speed limit.
-Conducted a well being check in the 100 block of North Maple Street.  Everything appeared to be okay.
There is currently a Medicare scam going on in the area.  The caller will call and request personal information such as your social security number and sometimes even demand you give them money for a new Medicare card.  As always, never give your personal information over the telephone.
