Cole Camp Takes Measure Of Lincoln

Second seeded Cole Camp defeated the seventh seeded Linclon Lady Cardinals 53-30 on Monday night in the Warsaw tournament .
With just six active players, the Lincoln Lady Cardinals gave a good account of themselves against the Lady Bluebirds. Falling behind 8-0, the Lady Cardinals battled back to trail 17-7 after one. The full court press hurt Lincoln but it was Cole Camp’s inside-outside presence that was too much in the end.
Laney Williams, a 5’ 11 senior, had 16 points and was tough on the inside all game long It was 34-16 at half.
Both Head Coaches, Rick Grunden for Cole Camp and Marlin Hammond for Lincoln, were vocal throughout the contest and added some flair to the game as both as always gave everything they had in the way proper instruction to help their teams. They are fun to watch and one can tell they care for their players and that they love the game of basketball.
In the end, although Cole Camp only scored six points in the third, they pulled away for their second victory of the year. They defeated Warsaw 59-50 last week.
They could be tested against Butler on Wednesday night.
Seniors Christina Eckhoff and Lyndsey Koll had 12 a piece for the Cardinals. Williams had 16 for Cole Camp.
In other action, the number one seeded Skyline Lady Tigers dominated Knob Noster 88-25. Although graduation hurt the Lady Tigers, they somehow reload every year. They have won the tourney 19 times and 12 of the last 13.
The fourth seeded El Dorado Springs Lady Bulldogs outgunned fifth seeded Clinton 61-31.
