Commission Discusses Purchase Of Vehicles

 The Benton County Commission met with Sheriff Eric Knox and Captain Jeff Canfield to discuss a vehicle purchase at their October 23 meeting.  Due to body style changes, vehicle costs will increase in 2019, and purchase of this vehicle now will result in a cost savings to the county.
District 1 Commissioner Dale Jr. Estes made a motion to accept the bid from Warsaw Oil Company for Road District #1 for red diesel fuel at a cost of $2.72 per gallon.  The motion passed.  The other bid was received from Zollicker Oil Company at a cost of $2.735 per gallon.  The Commission accepted the low bid.
Bob DeWitt met with the Commission to discuss road conditions on Lynn Lane.  It was determined that the area in question is not a county road.
District 2 Commissioner Jim Hansen reported that work on Fort Lyon Avenue Bridge is progressing on schedule.  The bridge has been poured and meets all criteria.  Dirt work will begin next.
Contracts have been received from MoDOT pertaining to placement of Agri-Ready and Purple Heart signs.  Road crews will begin placement in the near future.
Emergency Management Director Mark Richerson met with the Commission to request information pertaining to his 2019 budget.
County Treasurer Rick Renno gave his weekly financial report.  County Clerk Susan Porterfield submitted bills for approval and payment.
