Commissioners Began Work On 2020 Budget

The Benton County Commission began preparation of the 2020 budget at their November 12 meeting.  Meetings will be held with elected officials and department heads to obtain budget requisitions.  The Missouri University Extension Council board members met with the Commissioners to present their 2020 budget requests.  Members in attendance included Ronald Dent, Larry Smith, Tammy Culpepper, Amie Breshears and Tom Hare.
County Clerk Susan Porterfield met with the Commissioners to present her 2020 budget requests.  This included budgets for the election division Election Services Fund and HAVA Grant Fund.
County Collector David Brodersen met with the Commissioenrs to present his 2020 budget requests.  This included the budget for the Collector’s Tax Maintenance Fund.
County Clerk Porterfield presented the 2020 budget requests for the County Coroner as submitted by Coroner Weston Miller.
Chief Deputy Jeff Canfield met with the Commissioners to present Capital Improvement Fund expenditure requests.
Public Administrator Lori Dunkin and Assessor Jim Hansen met with the Commissioners to present their 2020 budget requests.
In other business, District 2 Commissioner Glen Nelson made a motion to accept the bid from Warsaw Oil Company for Road District #2 for diesel fuel at a cost of $2.245 per gallon.  The motion passed.  The other bid was received from MFA Oil Company at a cost of $2.3457.
District 1 Commissioner David Malecki made a motion to accept the bid from Warsaw Oil Company for Road District #1 for diesel fuel at a cost of $2.29 per gallon.  The motion passed.  The other bid was receive d from Zollicker Oil Company at a cost of $2.295.
