Commissioners Prepare 2020 Budget

The Benton County Commissioners continued with meetings with officials and entities as they continued preparation of the 2020 budget at their December 9 meeting.
In other business, District 1 Commissioner David Malecki made a motion to accept the bid for Road District #1 for red diesel fuel from Zollicker Oil Company at a cost of $2.215 per gallon.  The motion passed.  The other bid was received from Warsaw Oil company at a cost of $2.305 per gallon.
Commissioner Malecki made a motion to accept the bid for Road District #1 for unleaded gasoline from Warsaw Oil Company at a cost of $1.945 per gallon.  The motion passed.  The other bid was received from Zollicker Oil Company at a cost of $1.965 per gallon.
Judge Michael Hendrickson, Presiding Judge of the 30th Judicial Circuit, met with the Commission to present his 2020 budget requests.  This included the budget for the court reporter.
County Clerk Susan Porterfield presented the 2020 budget requests on behalf of the public defender’s office.
Stacey Sale met with the Commission to discuss the need for a homeless shelter within the county.
County Treasurer presented his weekly financial report.  Clerk Porterfield submitted bills for approval and payment.
Representatives from the Benton County Soil and Water Conservation District met with the Commission to present their 2020 budget request. Those in attendance with the Commission included:  Larry Nelson, Tina Dulaban, Jim Freeburger, Jamie Henderson, Dwayne Holmes, Chester Schlesselman, Diane Bradley Redden, and Bill Bronk.
