Darrell J. Beyer

Darrell J Beyer, age 86, passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2018, at the Lincoln Community Nursing Home in Lincoln, MO. Darrell was born on January 15, 1932, near Bentonville, MO, the son of Amos and Mamie Henderson Beyer.
He grew up near the Avery community and graduated from Wheatland High School in 1949. Following graduation he worked for the MFA Exchange in Warsaw. On August 6, 1952, he was inducted into the United States Army and served his country until his honorable discharge on August 5, 1954. At that time he became a National Guard Reservist until 1960.
Darrell was united in marriage to Norma Lee Clark on July 13, 1957 at Wheatland, MO. Following their marriage they made their home in Independence, MO and unto this union, two sons were born. Norma preceded him in death on July 27, 1987.
Darrell begin working for Montgomery Ward in 1954, retiring from management in November of 1990. Following his retirement he made his home on the farm near Fristoe and continued the daily operations of the farm. 
On April 20, 2001, he was united in marriage to Helen Ann Conklin in Miami, OK. They made their home on the farm where they spent many hours feeding and tending their cows. Darrell enjoyed being at the sale barn and auctions. He enjoyed driving his van and delivering his pears to his friends. Darrell and Helen attended Cowboy Church in Fristoe where he was always ready to help his neighbors and friends. Darrell had served on the Concord Cemetery Board and was active in caring for the Concord Church.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Helen, on January 18, 2018, a brother, Durward Beyer and a sister, Dorothy Beyer.
Surviving are two sons, Duane Beyer of Fristoe and Mike Beyer of Independence, four grandsons, Steven, Michael J, and Cody Beyer all of Independence and Jeffrey Butcher of Atlanta, Georgia, two great-granddaughters, MacKenzie and Mya, and a sister, Delores Hawkins of Pleasant Hope, MO, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were at 2:00 P.M., Monday, May 7, 2018, at the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw, MO with visitation beginning at 1:00 P.M. Interment with military rites will followed at Concord Cemetery near Fristoe, MO. Memorials may be made to the American Parkinson’s Association or Concord Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
