Ernie Reed

Fred E. “Ernie” Reed, age 90, of Warsaw, Missouri, left his earthly home and ascended into heaven on June 24, 2021.  He was born on October 17, 1930 in Hoxie, Kansas to Fred and Gladys (Schlicker) Reed
He grew up in California and graduated from San Fernando Valley High School.  He worked as a bricklayer and master stone mason for 60 years and was very passionate about his work.
He was united in marriage to Betty Reed in 1973.  In 1992 they moved from their home in Bend, Oregon to Williamsville, Missouri.  They moved to Warsaw, Missouri in June of 2005.  They enjoyed traveling and made many trips by train.
Betty taught him to fish and he enjoyed fishing as long as his health allowed.
Ernie was also a member of the River Church where he was passionate about the Lord and was a man who spent countless hours in prayer.
He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Jeannett Peoples and Julia May Kelner. 
He is survived by his wife Betty, of the home, three sons, Ron Reed (Glenda), Randall Reed (Peggy), both of California, Rickey Reed (Jeanette), of Bend Oregon, two step-sons, Rick Pogue and Darrell Pogue, two brothers, Richard and Glenn Reed (Diana), two brothers-in-law (Glynn (Sharon) and Larry Reed) and two sisters- in- law, (Ruby Prewitt, and Pat Meyers), 7 grandchildren, Jaimie Garber, Rick Pogue, Kaylie Shults, Cody Pogue, Daria Pogue, Darren Pogue, and Delaney Pogue, one great grand-daughter, Aurora Mae Garber, other relatives and friends.
A celebration service will be held at River Church in Warsaw, MO with Rev. Sam & Denise Hinkle officiating on July 17th, 2021 at 11:00 am.  Early visitation will be from 10:00 am until 11:00 at the church.
