Over 400 people attended the Warsaw Chamber of Commerce Hunting and Fishing Expo held in the Warsaw Community Building on Saturday.
According to Chamber Director Mac Vorce, the Expo was a success.  “The weather wasn’t the best, but then more people came to see what our vendors had to offer since it was too cold and wet to do anything outside.”
Admission was $5 or $3 if the person brought a canned good which the Chamber donated to the Benton County Food Pantry.  All proceeds go toward the many Chamber events during the year.
“I was very pleased with the turnout as well as the twenty five vendors who participated in the event,” said Vorce.
One of the vendors was the Warsaw River Rats.  This group’s main focus is making fishing fun for kids.  They are planning a kids fishing event on June 2.
The Benton County Bass Group which main purpose is teaching people how to catch large mouth bass was also on hand at the Expo.  The Benton County Bass Group meets at 6 PM on the first Monday of each month in the Warsaw Library conference room.  Everyone is welcome.
Four Season Heating and Cooling from Windsor had a booth at the Expo where they demonstrated their air scrubber.
Triple River Gunsmiths were  present at the Expo and donated several guns for raffles throughout the day.
The Leathernecks were stationed in the kitchen where they served food throughout the day.  The proceeds were going to their various charities which includes summer baseball and many other events for children.
The next big event for the Chamber will be the Missouri State Championship for Mountain Bikers on May 19 and 20.  Winners will qualify to participate in the National Mountain Bike competition to be held in West Virginia.
Then in June the Chamber will be co-sponsoring the Warsaw High School Academic Banquet.
