Representatives of six area charities were present at the Warsaw Knights of Columbus Hall, Wednesday, Feb. 7 where they enjoyed a great shrimp dinner courtesy of the Knights of Columbus.
Following the dinner, Joe Gazarek, Knights of Columbus President, presented checks to Debbie Swerline, with the Benton County Food Pantry; Jeanette Pahlow, of the Sedalia based Birthright organization; Sharon May, with Soup & More Community Kitchen; and Amie Breshears, with the Warsaw Education Foundation. The checks were made possible by proceeds from the annual “monster shrimp boil” put on by K of C last fall. All recipients of funds expressed great appreciation for funds received.
The dinner also honored the K of C Ladies Auxiliary, represented by Kelsi Brosnahan and the Friends of the Benton County Sheriff’s Office, represented by Carrie Rieman; and K of C members who prepared the excellent meal.
