Larry P. Gardner, age 76, of Warsaw, passed away Friday, November 2, 2018 at his home.  He was born on August 3, 1942 in LaMonte, Missouri the son of Wayne and Monna Gardner.  He grew up in LaMonte and then moved with his family to Warsaw in the mid 1950’s.  He graduated from Warsaw High school in 1960. 
On September 6, 1969 he was united in marriage to Almira Kidwiler.  They made their home in Warsaw.  Larry was a farmer all his adult life.  He raised turkeys and established a small farm south of Warsaw.  He took pride in raising cattle and show horses.  Both he and his wife loved to work with and ride horses.  They produced champion Fox Trotter horses that won National recognition such as the 1978 Grand Champion 3 year old Model Mare, the 1981 Grand Champion 4 year old & older Model Mare, the 1997 MFTHPA Grand Champion Futurity Model Foal.  He also was active in showing horses in local horse shows and was a lifetime member of the Warsaw Saddle Club.  Larry also loved to dance.  It was an every Friday or Saturday night activity for him.
He was known as the “Man with a Plan” which he proudly mounted as a plate on his truck, to let everyone know he had a plan.
He is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers; Patrick, Jimmy, Bobbie and an infant brother Bruce, one niece Julie and a nephew Tommy.
He is survived by his wife, Almira, one brother Glen Gardner, and his wife Denise, two sisters; Marty Fajen Weaver, and her husband Jim, of Warsaw, and Ruth Ann Kreisler, and her husband Dwane, of Lincoln, many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services for Larry P. Gardner will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at the Reser Funeral Home in Warsaw.  Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M.  Graveside services and interment will follow the funeral at the Shawnee Cemetery in Warsaw.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Benton County Hospice, c/o the Reser Funeral Home, PO Box 910, Warsaw, Missouri 65355.
