Leo C. Dillon passed away peacefully at his home in Cole Camp on February 14, 2021. He was born on March 20, 1936, a son of Marion and Mary Dillon.
On December 25, 1958, he was united in marriage to Glenalee Schlesselman, who survives of the home.
Leo was a graduate of Lincoln High School and served his country honorably in the United States Army. After his discharge from the Army, he worked at the Lincoln MFA Elevator and for MFA Patron Engineering for a number of years. He retired as a maintenance worked from the Lincoln School District in 2001. After retirement, he delivered meals for the Cole Camp Senior Center until his health failed him.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a sister, Joyce Laughinghouse, an aunt, Izola Schnakenberg, brothers-in-law, Larry (Judy) Schlesselman and Cecil (Joyce) Schlesselman; sisters-in-law, Sharel (Robert) Wienberg, Suzanne (Larry) Lutjen, Debbie (Larry) Vaughan, and Sharon Dillon; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Mary Dillon, three brothers, Lloyd Dillon, Leroy Dillon, and Lester Dillon, and a sister, Gladys Harms.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 20, 2021, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery near Cole Camp with military honors by the American Legion Post No. 305 of Cole Camp. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Schlesselman, Travis Rodewald, Brandon Rodewald, Bruce Wienberg, Scott Hutchinson, and Elo Osoego.
There will be no formal visitation, however, friends may pay their respects and sign the guest book at the Fox Funeral Home in Cole Camp. A celebration of life and gathering of family will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 20, 2021, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Cole Camp with Pastor Stephen Zeller officiating.
The family suggests memorial contributions be given to the Seniors of North Benton County or St. Paul’s Cemetery Fund in care of the Fox Funeral Home, PO Box 37, Cole Camp, MO 65325.
