It is still called Homecoming at Lincoln and not Courtwarming as some schools have changed the name. It was very fitting as the Lincoln boys hadn’t had a home game in a month. Coach Tyler Burke commented, "It was good to be home. It was a great crowd. The game was physical but we like physical.”  Yes,with a team loaded with outstanding football players, they should like the physical aspect of the game.
Lincoln won 63-52 over a good Green Ridge team on Friday night in a game that almost didn’t happen due to power outages in Green Ridge. It wasn’t until around noon that school officials decided to play the game.
It was icy, cold and rainy,  but the Lincoln faithful came out to almost pack the house to see the Homecoming activities and cheer their teams to victory. The JV won 38-35 and the girls lost a close one.
The boys game was closer than the score showed as Green Ridge led 39-38 in the third at the 2:18 mark. However, Bo Kroenke  hit three shots in a row to put Lincoln ahead for good. He hit a short jumper, then a three and then a little fade away from the elbow. Green Ridge Head Coach Jason Cannon commented, “Bo is like that. Once he hits his first shot, he gets into a flow and is hard to stop."
It was 45-41 after three.
Kroenke would put Lincoln ahead in the first quarter at 10-9 on a drive from the baseline. Lincoln led 13-11 as the period ended.
The opening of the second quarter saw a nice pass  by Devon Parrott on the inside to Kroenke to make it 17-11. Green Ridge’s Alex Rebikh and Carson Brown would keep their team in the game as it was 25-19 at halftime.
Rebikh would end the night with 20 points and  battled inside all night long with Nate Hesse..
Hesse, who hit some big shots down the stretch said, "When we lost Tanner (Bays), playing inside kind of fell to me. I am usually going up against bigger players, but I like the physical. I like driving to the basket but they left me open so I shot some threes. Green Ridge is a good team.”
It was a five point game at 57-52 with a minute and change to go but Kroenke would go 5-5 from the free throw line in the closing moments to put the game away. Kroenke had 28 to lead Lincoln.
