Christian Meier will be taking over as the Warsaw R-IX Assistant Superintendent on July 1.  Meier, the current Forsyth High School principal, will replace Tim Thomas who is retiring at the end of the school year.
Meier, who grew up in Indiana, attended Missouri State in Springfield on an academic scholarship.  He began his career as a middle school science and social studies teacher with the Sparta School District.  Meier finished his Master and Education Specialist degrees at William Woods University.
Meier and Warsaw Superintendent Shawn Poyser met when they were both working at Sparta.
“The Forsyth and Warsaw School Districts are very similar,” said Meier.  “I wanted to work in the central office and this was the perfect opportunity to work with someone (Poyser) I trust.”
While Meier will not start his new job until July, he hopes to make several visits to the Warsaw District to become familiar with the staff.
Meier is the father of a three year old daughter, Ellie.
