Ruth Anne Kauffman

Ruth Anne
Ruth Anne Kauffman, 77, of Warsaw, Missouri, peacefully departed this life on September 4, 2020, at Sharon Lane Health and Rehabilitation in Shawnee, Kansas, after a very long battle with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. Ruth Anne (Pickard) entered this world on September 19, 1942 in Seattle, Washington, daughter of George Pickard and Ursula Ruth (Kleinwachter) Pickard.
The family relocated to Kansas City, Missouri, where Ruth Anne grew up and graduated from Northeast High School. After graduation, the family moved to Warsaw, Missouri, and opened a very successful restaurant, where Ruth Anne worked. She met Jimmy Kauffman, and they were married on October 4, 1962. From this union, two children were born: Michael and Pamela.
For many years, Ruth Anne provided childcare out of the family home and then eventually began working at Reinhart Fajen Gunstocks, a major US gunstock manufacturer, in the customer service department. She remained there until the company closed in 1998.
Ruth Anne was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, with a kind and caring spirit and a highly contagious laugh. A favorite memory of her was when she would walk over to the Boring’s Rexall drug store on her lunch break and browse the funny greeting cards. Her laughter could be heard throughout the store. Later in life, it was a sight to behold when she was, at long last, reunited with her long-lost granddaughter Erin Kliethermes and family.
Ruth Anne is survived by son Michael Adamson-Kauffman (husband John Wesley Adamson); son Jordan Kauffman; daughter Pamela Kleepes; granddaughters Erica Poe and Erin Kliethermes (husband Jordan Kliethermes), great-granddaughters Lively and Stella, beloved sister Teresa Miller (husband David Miller), sister Barbara Mills (husband Bill), brother Roger Pickard (wife Cindy Pickard), and a host of extended family and friends.
Ruth Anne was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 57 years, Jimmy Curtis Kauffman, father George Pickard, mother Ruth Pickard, mother-in-law Millie Kauffman, and son-in-law Gary Kleepes.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 11, 2020, at Warsaw Church of the Nazarene in Warsaw, with Pastor Christopher Keith officiating. Burial will be in Cole Camp Cemetery, near Cole Camp.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation or your favorite inclusive charity foundation.
