Sondra J. Murrell, age 75, of Warsaw, Missouri and lifelong resident of Higginsville, Missouri, passed away Monday, September 16, 2019 in Warsaw. She was born on August 19, 1944 in Detroit, Michigan the daughter of Albert and Evelyn (Stoll) Fetter. She grew up in Higginsville and graduated from Higginsville High School in 1962. On July 7, 1962 she was united in marriage to Lonnie “Buddy” Murrell. They made their home in Higginsville and unto this marriage three children were born.
Sondra was a lifetime homemaker and her greatest accomplishment was being a loving devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Sondra was a member of the First Baptist Church of Higginsville and was currently the longest standing member. Sondra enjoyed the outdoors and spent many days from sun up until sun down tending to her beautiful landscaping.
She is preceded in death by her parents, a brother Sonny Boy, who passed at birth, her second father Woodrow “Woody” Mabary and a grandson Specialist Joshua Munger.
Sondra is survived by her husband, Lonnie “Buddy” Murrell, three children; Tanya Bush, and her husband Steven, of Centerview, Missouri, Tammy Hitt, of Higginsville, Missouri and Tim Murrell, and his wife Cindy, of Warsaw, Missouri, a brother, Gary Fetter, and his wife Gloria, of Marshall, Missouri, seven grandchildren; Jessica Johnson, and her husband Christopher, Morgan Hitt, and her fiancé Thomas Fitzwater, Hayden Hitt, Ellie Murrell, Drake Murrell, Austin Bush, and his wife Tiffany and Alysha Munger and her husband Christopher Culbertson, eight great-grandchildren; Joshua, Kala, Colton, Riley, Teagan, Kase, Mathias and Langston.
Funeral Services for Sondra J. Murrell were held at 12:00 P.M. Friday, September 20, 2019 at the First Baptist Church in Higginsville, Missouri with Dr. Greg Fine and Pastor Barry Edwards, officiating. Visitation was held two hours prior to the funeral from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. Friday. Graveside Services and Interment followed the funeral at the Brand Cemetery in Higginsville, Missouri.
