Teresa Lynn Darnell

Teresa Lynn Darnell, age 61, of Warsaw, MO, passed away Monday, September 10, 2018 at Research Hospital in Kansas City, MO, following a surgical procedure.  She was born on September 8, 1957, in Vermillion, South Dakota, the daughter of Kenneth D. and Lois (Stuart) Mincks.
She grew up in Vermillion, moving to Omaha in 1969 where she graduated from Omaha Bryan High School in 1975.  She attended Iowa Western Community College where she received her degree in nursing. In 1984, she moved to Arizona and attended college to study respiratory therapy.  In 1987 she returned to Omaha and in 1991, she moved to Warsaw, MO.
She was united in marriage to Larry Lee Darnell on November 22, 1991, at the Cross Timbers United Methodist Church.  They have spent their entire married life, 26 years, in Warsaw.
Teresa had been a supervisor at the Missouri Veteran’s Home in Warrensburg, MO for 10 years.  She also had worked for Fastaff/US Nursing as a traveling registered nurse, traveling from the east to the west coast.
She was a member of the Poplar Baptist Church where her father had served as Deacon.  She loved horses and dogs and all animals in general, hunting and fishing and above all, her family.  Teresa touched the lives of each one she meet.  She was a caring and selfless person, also putting others above herself.  She will be missed by many.
She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Mincks, grandparents, Clara Stosberg, Robert Earl Stuart, Helen Ruth Mincks and Leroy Lester Mincks.
Surviving is her husband, Larry Darnell, of the home, her mother, Lois E. Mincks, of Warsaw, her children, Allie Mincks of Olathe, KS, Jeremy Mincks (Kinsley) of Atlanta, Georgia,  Shawn Murphy (Amy) of Warrensburg, MO, Senior Chief Petty Officer, Justin Darnell, USN (Lindsay) stationed on the USS GERALD R. FORD (CVN 78), Nicholas Murphy and Julie Darnell, both of Warsaw, 11 grandchildren, Jacob Tubbs, Austin Krehbiel, Jaylyn Mayes, Lily Alspaugh, Carly Murphy, Haylee Wing, Charlotte Alspaugh, Tyler Wing, Ila Ethridge, Averie Murphy, Grayson Darnell, and Austin Murphy.  Also surviving is two sisters, Lori Chancellor (Jerry), and Kim Krueger (Eldon), many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services for Teresa Darnell was at 10:00 A.M., Friday, September 14, 2018, at Popular Baptist Church with visitation also at the church on Thursday evening, from 6 to 7 P.M.  Graveside services were held in the Lincoln Cemetery, Lincoln, MO.  Arrangements under the direction of the Davis-Miller Funeral Home, Lincoln, MO.
