The long, hot summer amid times of rain and cloud cover welcomed the JBMS football team back to Randy Morrow Field last week. The Monday through Friday practices saw a lot of talent in action. Also, new H.S. Wrestling Coach Eric Noland joined the coaching staff with mainstays Coach Warstadt and Coach Michael Slavens.
Their is a load of talent to had this season. Ty Williams, a speedy running back should take the area by storm. No one out-hustled Shane Poyser during the week. He is wearing contacts now so you might not recognize him right away.
Coach Noland was very vocal during the week and seems to have a true sense of the game of football.
Michael Slavens, former Warsaw QB with a shotgun arm, should be a big plus for the quarterbacks. Athletic Director and Head Coach Warstadt knows the program well and does a good job.
All in all, it was a good week and the team looks to be strong this season.
