WHS Basketball Tournament In Full Swing

 One of the longest running invitational basketball tournaments in the state is in full swing at Warsaw High School this week. The Warsaw Boys’ Invitational Tournament is celebrating its 85th anniversary while the girls are celebrating thirty years.
     The tournament started on Monday with the girls playing.  The first seeded Skyline girls defeated Knob Knoster 91 to 23. The Warsaw Lady Cats were narrowly defeated by the girls from Conway 47 to 43.  Skyline Lady Tigers will take on Conway Wednesday at 7:30, while the Lady Cats will play Knob Noster Wednesday at 9.
     The girls from Butler defeated the Lincoln Lady Cards 73 to 21 while the ElDorado Lady Bulldogs upset the third seeded Cole Camp Lady Bluebirds 55 to 45.  The Lincoln Lady Cards will play the Lady Bluebirds on Wednesday at 4:30 while the Butler girls will take on ElDorado at 6. 
     The girls’ tournament will conclude on Friday, December 1.  The finals for the boys will be Saturday, December 2.
     Warsaw Athletic Director Ryan Boyer was pleased with the turnout on Monday night.  “We urge everyone to come out and cheer these kids on and enjoy some great basketball action from area teams,” Boyer said.
