The top fifteen scores qualify for state in Cross Country. Warsaw had three to make the cut at Hollister last week.
Warsaw Cross Country Coach  Ehren Banfield commented on his three qualifiers last week, “Alyssa Alcantara ran a great race throughout the entirety of the 5K. She stayed in that 2nd place slot for most of the race.  She had a small pack that followed her but she was able to slowly pull away from them as they slowly slid back.
Trey Palmer and Maleek Porter got out to a good start and early on and Maleek was sitting in 15th position which is the cut off for qualification to state.  Maleek and Trey fought and pushed themselves as they keep position and advanced to state next weekend at Oak Hills Golf Course in Jefferson City.
I am personally happy that Maleek finally qualified for state his senior year as he has wanted to qualify for many years now.  He has finally seen his day at achieving a goal he has wanted for a long time.  I have never seen Maleek as happy as he was today with his personal achievement.”
