Beth A. Hudgens

Beth Alice Beyer Fergerson Hudgens, age 90, of Warsaw, passed away December 5, 2022 at MU Hospital in Columbia, MO.  She was born in Warsaw, Missouri on January 8, 1932 the daughter of Glenn and Vera Midyett Beyer.
She grew up in the Warsaw area and graduated from the Warsaw High School with the class of 1950.  On August 20, 1953 she was united in marriage to Fred Thurman Fergerson and to this union two children were born, Debra Kay and Franklin Fred.
In 1959, Beth went to work for the United Telephone Company (presently known as Brightspeed) as a telephone operator.  When dial telephones came into existence she then went to work in the main business office and retired in February 1994.  She also was co-owner of the Fred Fergerson Gas Station and Small Engine Service located on Highway 7 west of Warsaw from 1957 to 1980.  Her husband, Fred passed away on June 22, 1981.
On May 19, 1983 Beth was united in marriage to Nolan Alfred Hudgens.  They enjoyed 35 happy years together.  Nolan passed away on October 16, 2018.
Beth was an active member of the New Home Baptist Church where she enjoyed playing the piano and singing specials.  She also enjoyed bowling, embroidery, collecting coins and making picture albums for her grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and great great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Vera Beyer; her sister, Helen Glendora Jones; her first husband Fred T. Fergerson; her son, Franklin F. Fergerson; and her second husband, Nolan A. Hudgens.
She is survived by one sister, Goldie P. Johnson, Kansas City; daughter, Debra K. Gouge (Eugene), Warsaw; Step-daughter, Janet F. Campbell (Chuck) Warsaw; 3 grandchildren: David E. Gouge (Adrienne), Michael D. Gouge (Elizabeth) and Rhonda E. Stowe (Rick); 6 great grandchildren: Kimberley Stallo (Brady), Rebecka Gouge; Makiya Gouge Campbell, Alysabeth Gouge Campbell, Allison Stowe and Josephine Gouge Campbell; two great great grandchildren: Charley Mae and Maverick Reid Stallo; 7 step-grandchildren; 16 step-great grandchildren; 7 step-great great grandchildren; and 1 great great great grandson. Several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Beth loved her God and her church family.  She will be missed by one and all.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, December 9, 2022 at the New Home Baptist Church.  Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the Reser Funeral Home.  Interment will follow the funeral at the Shawnee Cemetery.
