Wishing everyone a very Happy New Year, especially everyone that reads the Fristoe News!  I decided to combine the two, Christmas and New Year editions into one, and hope no one was too aggravated at me.
The Fristoe News sends deep condolences to the family of Gary Estes due to his passing last week.  I knew Gary his whole life, watched as he grew.  I was in the same class as his oldest sister, Vicki in school.  We started first grade at R-6 the same year and graduated from Warsaw High School together in 1970.  Gary is leaving  boots  that will be hard to fill in his family, his job, his church and neighborhood.  Again, Fristoe News sends our sympathy and our love!
Asking for prayers this week for lifetime Fristoe/Cross Timbers resident Joe Harris.  He now has hospice in his home because of kidney failure and his time is told will be very short. I am inserting this into the column, this afternoon as I am writing this column word comes that he has passed away.  I do not know anything else but will put any news at another time.  His wife Gladys Mae is not in good health and needs prayers also. Carolyn Colbert did not have a good doctor's appointment last week either and we must keep her on our prayer list.  Curtis Allen, Alice Boston, Mary Scarbrough and several attendees of the Fristoe Lighthouse Church also need prayers.
Sending a happy birthday to Ed Colbert this week as he celebrates his birthday on Saturday, January 7 and he did not get a good birthday present as Joe Harris is Ed's younger brother. A big happy birthday shoutout to my oldest son Randy as he will celebrate birthday  number 49 on Tuesday, January 10.
Many friends and neighbors had family visiting for holidays and we have not heard of any having accidents, and for that we are thankful.  My husband Dean had a GOOD doctor's checkup this week so we have lots to be thankful for.
While school has been dismissed for vacation, the sports activities have continued for many.  Warsaw girls basketball won a game at Osceola and Climax Springs basketball won a game and lost a game.  Next week Warsaw and Climax will both be playing in the Boys and Girls Basketball tournament at Skyline High School.  With those three area schools involved, there will be a bunch of local students busy.  Go out and support your local kids in their school  activities.  Let them know you are proud of them and appreciate the efforts they put out.
Thought for the week:  The name for people that aren't excited about work-----UNEMPLOYED!
Hope everyone that reads the Benton County Enterprise has a week full of love, laughter, and lots of other good things!
