Fristoe News

The past week in the Fristoe area, weather has been fantastic. Hope it stays this way for several more weeks. The Fristoe area is turning out some wonderful young girls that I am going to tell you about.  Last week, Laney Arnett, junior at Warsaw High School was a candidate for Princess at Homecoming.  Laney's parents are Adam and Bridget Arnett, who live right in Fristoe. This week we also mention Jessie Bilderback as she was chosen as Student of the Month for the freshman class at Warsaw. Jessie is daughter of Travis and Michaela Bilderback who live on Jackman Avenue in Fristoe.  Last, we mention Brooklyn Jackman as she was chosen as Student of the Month for sophomore class of Warsaw.  Brooklyn is the daughter of Jesse Jackman and lives on Jackman Avenue in Fristoe.  Fristoe News is very proud of these girls and says congratulations to them!
I went to the Memorial/Celebration of Life for my cousin, Irene Ray on Friday night at Windsor and met up with several relatives I hadn't seen in quite awhile. One in particular was Doug Stull, I hadn't seen him in several years, so we talked and talked.  Why things get so bound up you can't get together with your family, I don't really know but it sure happens.  Doug mentioned his Dad, Ray was in the Lincoln Nursing Facility, which I didn't know.  Doug has quite a few relatives that live in and around the Warsaw area.  He mentioned that he likes to read the Fristoe News, so "Hi" Doug, love you and hope you have a great week!
Asking prayers for Carolyn Colbert. I talked with her on Saturday and she was not feeling well at all.  She had to receive blood earlier in the week so she was not in good shape.  Remember the benefit for Ed and Carolyn Colbert that is being held on Friday night, October 14 in the Warsaw Shrine Building beginning at 5:30pm.  Other prayer are needed for Lewis and Judy Retherford, Curtis Allen, Carolee Apperson, Jeanne Wright, Alice Boston and Mary Scarbrough.  Good report on Lewis and Judy though, as Lewis has improved enough to be able to drive the vehicle, van, that he used to drive, and drove it and brought himself, Judy and friend Chef Richard to church on Sunday morning.  The Fristoe Pentecostal Lighthouse Church is thankful for the Retherford's improvement.
The church celebrated the 84th birthday of Marie Lowry on Sunday by singing happy birthday, giving her a beautiful bouquet, a card shower and a birthday cake to take home. Specials sang Sunday morning were "The Little Brown Church in the Vale", sang by Claude and the Lighthouse singers especially for Marie as that is one of her favorite songs.  Ken sang, "Never Been This Homesick Before" a great spirit filled song.  Br. Smith brought his message from Romans Chapter 2, telling each one that our conscience is the best way that we get the "Preaching of God's Word!"  We hear The Word and bring it to heart even when we might not want to.
Thought for the week:  Those who bring sunshine to the lives of others can't keep it from themselves!
Hope everyone reading this news has a wonderful, safe, happy week!
