Have I Got A Line For You!

Orwell’s 1984 is getting closer to reality by the day. It was supposed to be a non-fiction dystopian warning, now it’s an operation manual. I’m talking about the indictment of President Trump here. Remember, not long ago when the ballot box was the Democratic way of sorting this out? This isn’t democracy. Political use of the justice system is the death of democracy and hello banana republic. What happened to the hullabaloo over those confidential files? Once President Biden was found to have them too, it went remarkably quiet. Looks like the Ruling Party’s High Committee For Public Safety has determined the guilt of the target, the Bad Orange Man. UNBELIEVABLE! They’re determined by hook or by crook to nail The Donald on something, anything, as long as it sticks. This is life on the way to socialism! Runaway inflation, shortages of goods, speech censorship and the arrest of political opponents.

There is other spooky news. ISIS-K has apparently set its sights on Western targets and could launch an attack this year. They supposedly have “sleeper cells” ready to go in New York in what they said will be a brilliant attack. Not sure how brilliant these degenerate folks really are. How brilliant can you be when you align yourself with people who still receive dental care by getting kicked in the face by a goat? These sleeper cells are what happen when you refuse to keep an eye on peace loving Muslims because of political correctness. Let’s connect the dots here. It’s not the Baptists and Catholics waging terrorist attacks. Will it take another 9-11 before we wise up?

Family members gathered at sister Julie’s for brunch Saturday. Niece Gabrielle manned an omelet station. I never had a “folded over” omelet until the late 70’s. The ones served growing were more like a soufflé, with stiffly beaten egg whites in them and baked in a cast iron skillet. Saturday brought to mind this dish from the distant past. My Dad learned how to make them this way from Charley Dunn who worked for my grandparents. Charley served overseas in World War 1 with Algerian troops and Aunt Jane has Charley’s knife from those war years, a knife with a hawk on the end. As a line in an old song queried, “Where has it been to and where will it go?”

The sun is shining, life is great (sort of) and it’s time to put a stop to this. Do not Pass Go or you may be in the calaboose. Take care of yourself old buddy.
