Jackie Galyn Stull, Sr.

Jackie Galyn Stull, Sr. age 89, passed away Monday morning, July 25, 2022 at the Warsaw Health & Rehabilitation Center.  He was born at home on April 22, 1933 near Avery, Missouri the son of Oliver R. Stull and Mary Jewell (Bird) Stull.  He grew up in the Avery/Warsaw area and graduated from Warsaw High School, the class of 1950.  After graduation Jack was drafted in the United States Army, serving until his honorable discharge in 1955.  
After his discharge, Jack returned to Warsaw where he began his career as a mechanic for Durham Chevrolet, working his way up to head mechanic.  While working there he met the girl of his dreams, Shirley Hopkins.  On July 16, 1958 they were united in marriage in Wheatland, Missouri.  Unto this union, one son and two daughters were born.  Later in life Jack made a career change and became employed with MFA Propane.  He was well known as a delivery driver, retiring in 1995 after more than twenty years of service. 
Jack was very proud to live and work cattle on the farm that had been in the Hopkins family for 100 years, becoming a Century Farm in 2019.  He was a member of the Spring Branch Church of the Brethren in Avery and served as President of the Spring Branch Cemetery.  He also served as committee member for the 1st Jubilee Days. Jack was known for his ability to crank “homemade” ice cream and enjoyed sitting on the porch looking up the hill at a freshly bailed field.  However, the most enjoyable time was that spent with his family.
Jack is preceded in death by his parents; Oliver and Jewell Stull, two sisters, Vernice Ward and Betty Jean Ward-Wilkins and three brother-in-law’s, George Ward, Roy Ward and Arley Wilkins.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-four years, Shirley Stull, a son, Jackie Stull, Jr. (Carol), two daughters; Debbie Stowe (Drew) and Vanessa Maddux (Brian) all of Warsaw, six grandchildren; Tasha Crouch (Scott), of Bolivar, Shaun Stull, of Warsaw, Dalton Stowe (Lindsey) of Sedalia, Missouri, Dedra Anderson (Josh), of Warsaw, Brandi Rath (Hayden) of Lincoln and Derek Maddux (Haven), of Sedalia, four great grandchildren; Kelli and Harper Crouch, Haley Anderson and Bailee Maddux and one more on the way.  Also surviving are two nephews; Jerry Ward (Diane) and Randy Ward (Myrna) of Blue Springs, Missouri, numerous other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Services for Jackie Galyn Stull, Sr. will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, July 29, 2022 at the Reser Funeral Home in Warsaw, Missouri with Pastor Rodney Kennedy officiating.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M.  Interment and Military Rites will follow the funeral at the Spring Branch Cemetery in Avery, Missouri.  Memorial Contributions may be made to the Spring Branch Church of the Brethren to support those attending Church Camp.
