JoDee Estes

JoDee Estes, age 86, passed away Monday, May 30, 2022, at her home near Warsaw surrounded by her family.  She was born on August 26, 1935, in Edwards, Missouri, the daughter of Leland and Faye (Gemes) Walthall. 
She grew up in the Edwards community and graduated from Warsaw High School in 1953.  Most of her life was spent in the Warsaw area where she was united in marriage to Paul Estes on February 7, 1964, at the home of her parents.  JoDee not only gain a loving husband but also became an instant Mom to Greeta, Sheri Paulanne and Robert.  Paul and JoDee were later blessed with another daughter, Kelli June.
JoDee was employed by Boring’s Drug Store for 35 years.  Paul & JoDee were involved in several eating establishments starting with the Dari-Kup which they operated for 8 years, Wildcat Drive-In, Dairy King, JoDee’s Café and finally ran PJ’s General Store in Warsaw.
JoDee professed her faith at an early age and even assisted in building the Edwards United Methodist Church, rock by rock.  Later she transferred her membership to the First United Methodist Church of Warsaw and was a member of the Wesley Sunday School class.  She had been involved in Mother’s Club, Benton County Republican Women’s Committee, and Pitch Club.  She enjoyed flower gardening, reading, playing cards, looking at photos and reminiscing of days gone by, but most of all she enjoyed time spent with her family and special times with her grand and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Robert Estes and a daughter, Sheri Paulanne Chance, and a sister-in-law, June Walthall.
JoDee is survived by her loving husband, Paul, of the home, two daughters, Greeta Estes of Highland, Illinois and Kelli Daleske, and husband, Steve, of Warsaw, five grandchildren, Jeremie Gregory, (Shannon) of Topeka, Kansas, Jacob Porter of Lincoln, Rhode Island, Sheri Jo Starwalt (Chad) of Highland, Illinois, Kayla Redwing and companion, John Steenburgen, of Warsaw, and Kody Redwing (Rebekah) of Springfield, 7 great-grandchildren, London and Brinley Gregory, Bo and Avery Starwalt, Bentley and Bailey June Steenburgen and Owen Steven Redwing, a brother, Larry Walthall of Lincoln, MO and her long-time friend and sister she never had, Greeta Hensley of Quincy, MO, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, June 3, 2022, at the Warsaw First United Methodist Church with visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M.  Graveside services and burial will follow at the Riverside Cemetery, Warsaw, MO.  Memorials may be made to the Benton County Cancer Fund in care of the Reser Funeral Home, P.O.
