Joe Dale Hedrick was born in Atlantic, Iowa, on October 8, 1939, the son of Bert William and Mary Helen Albertson Hedrick. His family moved to a farm close to Warsaw when he was 9 years old. On May 6, 1951, he was baptized in Turkey Creek by Rev. Martin J. Pope. Joe Dale was a graduate of Warsaw High School.
Joe Dale was united in marriage to the love of his life, Roberta Ann Salley, on October 21, 1956. They made their home in Warsaw where they raised their three daughters. They were faithful members of the First United Methodist Church of Warsaw and were MYF youth leaders.
He crafted gunstocks at Fajen Gunstock for years before joining Crowell Distributing as a sales representative, he then changed career paths to work at Burton-Walthall Motors. In 1978 he joined the Shelter Insurance family as an agent, where he retired 30 years later.
Joe Dale was actively involved in the community. He served on the church board and the Warsaw school board, chaired many Warsaw Jubilee Days events, and was an active member of Lion's Club.
He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with friends. He shared his passion and love of all sports, especially golf, hunting, water skiing, and boating with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  Papa Joe was proud of all of his grandchildren and was one of their biggest supporters.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bert and Mary Helen Hedrick; a sister Mildred Joan; and a grandson Derek Joel Shinn.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Roberta Ann; his daughters, Pam Barb, Terri Shinn and husband Jim, Connie Mooney and husband Jack; his grandchildren Brandon Grable, Rachel Durnell (Zane), Ryan Shinn (Vanessa), Ashley Raetz (Nathan), Jaffet Mooney (Brooke), and Kaila Mooney; his 10 great grandchildren Addison, Blane, Chase, Thomas, Cecilia, Ryker, Calloway, Georgia, Caroline, and Merritt; a brother Ed Hedrick and wife Dorothy; and a sister-in-law Veta Kinkead and husband Carter.
He peacefully arrived in heaven on May 6, 2022, exactly 71 years from the day of his baptism.
A celebration of life service is Thursday, May 12th, 2022 at First United Methodist Church in Warsaw, Missouri at 11:00 am.  Family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 am at the church.  There will be private family graveside service.
