Warsaw Band Set To Begin Contest Season

Posted
On Saturday, September 10, 2022, the Pride of Warsaw Marching Band participated in the Ozark Highlands Conference (OHC) Music Festival at Buffalo, MO. The band was the final band on the field at the festival, and they delivered an exciting, energy filled performance under the direction of Drum Major, Alyson Alcantara, and Assistant Drum Major, Brieanna Fenlon.
WHS Band Director  Curt Thomas stated after the performance when addressing the 55 band and color guard members, “this was the best run the band has had under my leadership.”
Thomas has been the Warsaw Band Director since August 2020.
A clinic is not a contest for the band. This is designed for the band to perform and receive helpful guidance before the contest season begins. On September 10 there were 5 bands at the festival. Following the performance, the band is divided into 3 groups (guard, percussion, wind & amp; brass).  The clinicians then offer guidance, encouragement, criticism, and support.
Clinicians, parents, and those in the stands were very proud of the Pride of Warsaw Marching Band.
If you would like to watch the band, they will be performing at each  of the remaining home football games (Sept 30 and Oct 14).  They will also be traveling to contest Festivals: Smith-Cotton on October 1 and Mizzou on October 14.
Pride of Warsaw is hosting their 1st annual Festival on Saturday, October 8 at Warsaw High School.  They have also been selected to perform during halftime of the Liberty Bowl, so will be traveling to Memphis Tennessee in December 2022.
Attend an event and check out the hard work the Pride of Warsaw puts into each performance. They would love the support!
