Andrew Michael “Andy” Hill, 42, of Clinton, Missouri, died unexpectedly Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at the Golden Valley Memorial Hospital, Clinton, Mo.
He was born May 20, 1982, in Clinton, the son of John David Hill and Valerie Diane (Utt) Hill. He graduated from Windsor High School in 2000. Andy possessed determination and drive which led to success in all sports: football, basketball, and track. He was a first team All-State wide receiver in football for the 1998 and 1999 seasons.
After attending Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, Mo., the opportunity to become a salmon fisherman’s guide opened a door to travel annually to Alaska. He worked with Alaska Trophy Fishing Safaris and Ayakulik Adventures in Kodiak for several salmon fishing seasons. In the off season, he worked in construction and the restaurant industry. He continued to enjoy traveling, spending time in Washington and Hawaii. Special memories were made on trips with his family to the Caribbean and to watch the Chiefs play. He was learning to garden and do small landscaping projects. His brownies and muffins were exceptional, and he liked to grill, especially salmon. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Windsor, and the Clinton Elks Lodge #1034.
Survivors include his father, John Hill, Clinton, Mo.; his mother, Valerie Hill, Windsor, Mo.; 3 brothers, Nick Hill (Amanda), Park City, Utah, Noah Hill (Katie), Bastrop, Texas, and Matt Evans (Talia), Lee’s Summit, Mo.; a sister, Megan Evans, Charleston, South Carolina; 3 nephews, Connor Hill, Luke Hill, and Benjamin Evans; a niece Piper Evans; paternal grandmother, Eva Hill, Clinton, Mo.; and numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins.
