Barbara R. “Bobbie” Nunez, age 93, passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at the Lincoln Community Care Center.
Bobbie was born on January 8, 1932, the youngest daughter of Okee and Iva Rice. Throughout her life, she had a deep love for animals. She was a dedicated breeder of several champion dog breeds and later sold her kennels to work as a groomer. Her greatest joy came from her animals, especially her beloved Shih Tzu babies.
In her spare time, Bobbie enjoyed gardening, raising flowers, and relaxing while watching classic cowboy movies.
Bobbie was united in marriage to Jack Alpert, and to this union one son, Brad, was born. She later married Robert Nunez.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Nunez; her son, Brad Alpert; her parents, Okee and Iva Rice; and her three sisters, Margie VanDyne, Jean Rice, and Betty Schlotter.
Bobbie is survived by her niece, Connie Jo Rodgers of Liberty, Missouri, and her nephew, Dan VanDyne of Sedalia, Missouri.
Arrangements for her cremation are under the direction of the Reser Funeral Home, 101 W. Main Street in Warsaw.
