Benton County 4H Council Presents 2021-22 Awards

The Benton County 4-H Council held their annual Recognition Banquet at the First United Methodist Church fellowship hall on Sunday, November 6. 
After the potluck dinner, 4-H Youth Specialist Elaine Anderson and Benton County 4-H Youth Program Associate Beth Crouch presided over the awards program.
Club leaders were recognized for their work for the past year.  Leaders for the county included:  Anita Campbell, All-Arounders 4-H Club; Kristie Jonson and Stephanie Louiselle, Lake Creek Lamplighters; Jill Strozewski, Lincoln Cardinals; Joe Valentine, Jonna Daleske and Jennifer Honea, Turkey Creek Homesteaders.
Project leaders were also recognized.  Those reaching milestones as a 4-H volunteer this past year include:  five-year volunteers:  Amanda Adler, Sandra Roark and Jill Strozewski; ten-year volunteer:  Stephanie Louiselle.
Move Across Missouri winners for Benton County includes:  Christopher Harrell, Hannah Harrell, Amelia Roberts and Connor Roberts.  All four received 4-H headbands.  Christopher Harrell was the county individual winner and received a hammock.
Awards were presented to Karina Honea, Klarissa Honea, Jason Honea and Jennifer Honea for participating in State 4-H Poultry Day.
Three 4-Hers were presented awards for participation in Benton County 4-H Achievement Day:  Henry Adler, Clover Kid Demonstration; Amelia Roberts egg demonstration and Connor Roberts, general demonstration on density of liquids.  Henry and Connor also presented their demonstrations at the Missouri State Fair.
Participants who received awards in State Sportsfishing (SLAM) included:  Jeremy Levy, Molly Strozewski and Sam Strozewski.
Benton County 4-H campers receiving recognition included:  Marshall Harms, Rhett Harms, Josiah Helland, Moriah Helland, Kaelyn Keith, Wyatt Keith, Grant Kullman, Kaia Kyser, Holdyn Pilant, Lindley Staus, Molly Strozewski, Sam Strozewski, Jace Tinney, Leighton Tinney, Kelsey Viebrock, Khloe Viebrock.  Chaperones included:  Brian Harms and Joel Helland.
Project record forms were completed by Emilee Barker, Alaina Camirand, Easton Chamberlin, Judd Harms, Rhett Harms, Hannah Harrell, Charlotte Harper, Kendall McLemore, Jarrett Phillips, Kolton Phillips, Abegayle Roark, Amelia Roberts and Connor Roberts.
Connor Roberts and Amelia Roberts were recognized for completing their Missouri State 4-H Recognition forms.  Connor’s level 1 report and Amelia’s level 2 report will now advance to the regional level later next month.
Missouri 4-H gives the Gold Seal to the 4-H Clubs in which 70% of its members complete at least one project by reaching their project goals in that project and be involved in club activities locally and also do community service projects.  The All-Arounders 4-H Club and the Lake Creek Lamplighters 4-H Club each received the highest rank, the Gold Seal.  The Lincoln Cardinals and the Turkey Creek Homesteaders 4-H Clubs received the Bronze Seal.
Volunteer service is encouraged in 4-H Clubs.  Those clubs receiving the highest award (the purple seal) included:  All-Arounders and Lake Creek Lamplighters.  The Turkey Creek Homesteaders 4-H Club received a white seal.
For many years, a window display has ben a staple of National 4-H Week activities.  This year’s National 4-H Window Displays were judged and placed as follows:  All Arounders 4-H Club, first place and Lake Creek Lamplighters 4-H Club, second place.
The Outstanding Clover Kid award (ages 5 through 7) was presented to Augustus Harper of the Lake Creek Lamplighters 4-H Club.
The Outstanding Junior 4-H member award (ages 8 through 13) was presented to Connor Roberts of the All Arounders 4-H Club.
The Outstanding Senior 4-H member award (ages 14 through 18) was presented to Hannah Harrell of the All Arounders 4-H Club.
The Outstanding Volunteer award was presented to Anita Campbell of the All Arounders 4-H Club.
The “I Dare You” award was presented to Hannah Harrell of the All Arounders 4-H Club.
