Betty Jane Nix-Burns April 1, 1951-June 28, 2025 was a follower of Jesus Christ, a Sister, Daughter, Wife, loving Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother (lovingly referred to as G-G), and loyal friend to many. She was 74 years old and born in Waverly, TN to John Wesley Nix and Addie O'Reta Hemby. Jane loved and was devoted to her family. She was preceded in death by her husband Eldon Burns, her son Clint Guthrie, and her grandsons Davis James Kjar and Wesley Robert Ribble. She is survived by her daughters Gina Kjar and husband James (Jim), Hope Ribble of Warsaw, MO and Holly Gaddy and husband Roy of Bedford, PA, her two sisters, Beverly June Nix Jones of Saraland, AL and Bicki Nix Morton and husband James (Morty) of Dover, TN and her brother Charles (Chuck)Richard Nix and wife Retha of Waverly, TN. Her Grandchildren Savannah Randall and husband Liam, Isaac Kjar, Johnatahan Kjar, Marcus Kjar, Davis Gaddy, Emma Kjar, Boaz Kjar, Jace Ribble, Bellamy Gaddy and Jamieson Gaddy , and three Great Grandchildren Aurus, Ada and Abigail Randall were her pride and joy. She loved to watch them run and play.
She spent her childhood days playing with siblings and cousins in the creek, and spent her high school years at Kingsbury in Memphis working in the summers at the YMCA. She loved attending family reunions each year and harvesting the family garden with her parents and siblings. She held various jobs in her lifetime from the medical field to teaching.
In her retirement, you could find her at church or dancing and singing with local friends, adding in fishing and swimming in the summertime with family. If she were here now, she would encourage you to laugh and get off your phone and learn how to "be" with yourself without distractions. She would want you to "go to church" and be a Christ follower.
