Betty Jean Cain

Betty Jean Cain, 99 years, passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2026 at her home in Clinton, Missouri with her family by her side. 

Betty was born on May 28, 1926 in Henry County, Missouri the daughter of Charles Edward Davidson and Maude (Hern) Davidson.

She is preceded in death by her husband Junior Vernell Cain in 1983 and her son David Cain in 2025.

Survivors include her daughter Debra Petralia, son Michael Cain, daughter-in-law Sandra Cain, grandchildren Michael Cain Jr., Michelle Cain, Melissa Petrailia, Brian Petrailia, and Alison Petrailia, her siblings Curtis Vernon Davidson, Wilburn “Red” Davidson, Joseph Russell Davidson, Charles Elvis Davidson, Wilma Alene Norton, Frank Hern Davidson, Lillie Mae Davidson Howland, Effie B “Corky” Davidson-Bunch.

Betty raised her family in the Clinton area. She enjoyed attending church and was a member of Golden Valley Seventh Day Adventist Church. Betty never met a stranger. She loved to eat and visit with family and friends. She enjoyed playing the piano. She had a love for animals, especially dogs.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Funeral services were held February 5, 2026 at the Golden Valley Seventh Day Adventist Church, Clinton with Pastor Marty Resz officiating.  Special music included "Amazing Grace, Old Rugged Cross & Sweet By and By," with Peggy Dewsberry as organist.  Interment followed in Good Hope Cemetery, Tightwad, MO.

Services were under the direction of Vansant-Mills Funeral Home of Clinton, MO.
