Betty Jean Dewitt, age 78, of Warsaw, Missouri, passed away Saturday, November 23, 2024, at her home. She was born on March 4, 1946, in Oneonta, New York, the daughter of Charles Fletcher and Grace Marie (Elderkin) Fletcher.
Betty grew up across the country and overseas while her father was in the Army. On September 26, 1964, she was united in marriage to Rick Dewitt. Betty again made her home across the country while Rick served in the United States Air Force. From El Paso, Texas to Washington DC, to Montogomery, Alabama to Anchorage, Alaska, Betty was a devoted mother and wife. Rick and Betty moved permanently to Warsaw in 1990.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, a son, Robert Dewitt and his wife Darlene, one sister, Barbara Trussel and two grandchildren; Craig Dewitt and one more that passed in infancy.
Betty is survived by her husband Rick, of the home, five children; Jamie Dewitt and his wife Jennifer, of Ionia, Missouri, Chealsaya Roberts, of Warsaw, Anthony Dewitt and his wife Monica, of Cole Camp, Missouri, Lakrista Bryson and her husband Michael, of Warsaw and Raniece McKizzie and her wife Lariah, of Sedalia, Missouri, two brothers, Danny and Dale Fletcher, both of New Mexico, sixteen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, numerous other relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Fredonia Baptist Church, Warsaw, Missouri. Arrangements for cremation are under the direction of the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw, Missouri.
