It was a wild week for the Lincoln Cardinals. They traveled to Adrian on Monday and defeated the Blackhawks in a 20-18 slugfest in 8 innings.
Kobe Enos hit a solo homer and Brock Ford smashed a grand slam for Adrian in a back-and-forth affair.
Hunter Vandaveer drove in 5 runs going 1 for 3 while Jayden Kelly had 4 RBI's on the day.
On Tuesday, Lincoln traveled to Northwest and lost 4-2. Hunter Vandaveer pitched well in a complete game scattering 7 hits and walking 2.
Ethan Goosen drove in both of Lincoln runs.
On Wednesday, still on the road, the Cardinals destroyed LaMonte 17-1. Chance Koll pitched the 3 inning affair giving up 1 run on 4 hits, striking out 2.
Nine batters drove in runs for the Cardinals as it was batting practice for the boys in red.
Thursday was a rain out against Appleton City at home.
Saturday was a nightmare finished for fifth seeded Lincoln in a 3-2 loss to four seed Northwest in the Kaysinger Conference Tournament at Lincoln.
Lincoln led 2-0 going into the seventh. Northwest being the home team because of the seeding batted last. Northwest's batter singled and a dropped fly in right field gave Northwest their second base runner. A wind blown fly ball in center saw a collision between center fielder and the right fielder scoring a run.
Owen Caton, who pitched a dandy game would line a shot past third base scoring the tying and winning runs as the Northwest dugout poured onto the field celebrating the come from behind victory.
Riley Sanders pitched 5 shutout innings. Dawson Parrott took the loss in relief thanks in part to the 2 costly errors in the outfield. Parrott went 2 for 4 at the plate driving in a run.
The tournament resumed on Monday. Lincoln fell to 10-8 on the season.
