Carol Ann Louiselle, 80, of Sedalia, passed away Thursday, April 16, 2026, at Fair View Health Care Center in Sedalia. She was born on October 12, 1945, in Mendon, Michigan, a daughter of William Robert and Minnie Jane (Shyer) Howe.
She grew up in Mendon, Michigan, where she was baptized at the Methodist Church, and graduated from Mendon High School in 1963. After graduation, she worked at The Pearl Button factory in town. In September of 1965, she was married to Jerry Lee Akin and was blessed with three daughters, Betty, Lisa, and Sue.
While living in Sturgis, Michigan, Carol met Howard Louiselle, and the couple were married on December 5, 1980, in Novi, Michigan. This union was blessed with a son, Howard Jr. Carol enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom. Howard moved the family to Woodrow, Texas, and then landed in Cole Camp, Missouri, to be close to his daughter, Diana.
Carol and Howard opened Howard's Fence Co., where she worked alongside Howard until they retired in 2017. And to this day, if you see a tag on a fence that reads "Howard Fence Co." you can be assured Carol had a hand in building it. After Howard's passing, Carol kept busy by mowing the grass and taking care of the home place until she moved to Sedalia to be with her daughter, Sue, in January of 2023.
Carol enjoyed trips to Walmart, attending Cole Camp football home games, grabbing a bite to eat at the Dairy Bar, and attending church with her family at Parkview Christian Church in Sedalia.
She is survived by her daughters, Betty Ann Fidler and Robert Fidler of Sanford, Florida, Lisa Nichols of Columbia, and Sue Lynn Steele and James David Steele of Sedalia; son, Howard Jr. Louiselle of Columbia; step-sons, David Louiselle and Sherry of Cole Camp, Danny Louiselle and Bonnie of Florida, and Daylon Louiselle of Michigan; sister, Loretta West of Colon, Michigan; grandchildren, Carl Lewis, Cody Lewis, Robert Joseph Fidler, and Jerry Ray Steele; step-grandchildren, Joshua Louiselle, Jawane Thornburg, and Jodi Dobyns; and great-granddaughter, Octavia Lewis.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Minie Howe, husband, Howard Louiselle, step-daughters, Darlene Zweers and Diana Busing, sisters, Roberta Listten, Janet Wegerif, and Evelyn Blankenship, brother, Richard Howe, and step-great-grandson, Elijah Malachi Kemp.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at Memorial Cemetery near Cole Camp with Pastor Rodney Brown officiating. The family suggests memorial contributions be given to Parkview Christian Church or Memorial Cemetery in care of the Fox Funeral Home, Cole Camp.
