Carolynn Rae Fisher, age 76, of Warsaw, Missouri passed away late Thursday evening, September 26, 2024 at the St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. She was born on December 16, 1947 in St. Louis, Missouri the daughter of Ray and Evelyn Julius.

Carolynn grew up in St. Louis and graduated from Ritenour High School. She went on to receive her degree in education from Central Missouri College in Warrensburg, Missouri. It was there that she met the love of her life, Hal Fisher. They were united in marriage on June 7, 1969.

They continued to make their home in Warrensburg where she began her teaching career at the State School in Higginsville, Missouri. In 1982 they moved to Warsaw. Carolynn taught for eight years at Warsaw South School and then in 1990 moved to the middle school,when it was built, as a science teacher.

Carolynn also served as high school cheerleading coach and was President of the Booster Club. After her retirement she served three terms on the Warsaw R-9 school board. She also was employed at the J&D Pharmacy as the manager of the Home Medical Department.

Carolynn wore many hats for so many people. She was a loving mother, wife and grandmother to her family, but she was also a caring and compassionate advocate to her students. Her encouragement through the years to her colleagues and students will leave long lasting memories for years to come.

Many knew her as a straight shooter that was willing to tell it like it was. Those same people knew that it came from her heart and that she always had their best interests in mind. She will be missed by those that were lucky enough to call her friend.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a brother, John Julius.

Carolynn is survived by a daughter, Amy Callister, of Warsaw, two sons; Michael Keyes, and his wife, Kim, of Kirksville, Missouri and Chris Keyes, and his wife Kelley, of Grain Valley, Missouri, ten grandchildren; Krystal Finkenbine, Jace Finkenbine, Brandon Smith, Ashlyn Smith, Lance Keyes, Alexah Keyes, Janie Keyes, Darren McKinzie, Connor Callister and Jesse Keyes, four great grandchildren; Maddy Finkenbine, Kennedy Finkenbine, Vivi Smith and Archer Smith.

A visitation will be held from 3:00 until 4:00 P.M. Saturday, October 5, 2024 at the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw.
