Charles Paul McHenry (Chuck), age 80, of Warsaw, Missouri, passed away on Friday, August 8, 2025.

Chuck was born on September 29, 1944, in Lawrence, Kansas, to Truman and Juanita McHenry. He grew up in Lawrence and proudly served his country by joining the U.S. Army in 1967. In 1968, he was deployed to Vietnam, where he was awarded the Bronze Star for bravery.

After returning home, he married Sharon Meneley and together they settled in Bonner Springs, Kansas, where they lived for 37 years. They had one son, Brian McHenry.

Chuck was a proud member of Plumbers & Pipe Fitters Local 533 and worked at KU Medical Center for 25 years. He retired in 2006 to Truman Lake, where he enjoyed fishing and the peacefulness of lake life. He was an avid fan of the Kansas Jayhawks and Kansas City Chiefs.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Bill McHenry; his sister, Sharon Simpson; and his beloved Labrador, Sunny.

Chuck is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Sharon; his son, Brian McHenry, and daughter-in-law, Betty; his grandson, Andrew, all of Bonner Springs, Kansas; and his faithful dog, Charlie.

Chuck will be remembered for his warm smile, his unwavering love for his family, and his honorable service to his country. He was a good man who lived a good life, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Cremation is under the direction of Reser Funeral Home.
