Drakes Chapel UMC
On this beautiful Spring Sunday morning we celebrated the mothers in our lives. Those who are with us today and those who passed on to glory. We also recognized all those people who have been so important in our lives and took on the role to nurture and love us. And we would be remiss if we did not recognize our fur babies and their mamas. We found our pews were filled with mothers and grandmothers and aunts and friends alike who felt the love and appreciation of the day.
Pastor Margie ended her sermon series on 1st , 2nd, and 3rd John. All about God’s love for us and how much He loves us no matter what. We can never escape His love.
We were pleased to have Linda Peart’s father and mother, Rev. John and Dorothy Noer with us for worship. It is always so special when we can welcome friends and family to share in our worship experience. We hope they felt the love.
We are pleased to be working on local mission projects this spring. At Drake’s we are doing our best to be the hands and feet of Jesus in our community. Sharing the love of God to all we meet. We Hope you will join us for worship Sunday at 9:00. If not in person, on Facebook Live, just look for Margie Briggs. Our beautiful chapel is located 5 miles east of Clinton off Hwy 52. If you are looking for a place to call home we hope you will come see us. We welcome you with open hearts and open minds.

First Baptist
On Sunday, Pastor Pat Findley delivered his final message in the five-week ‘Jesus Calls’ series titled “Called to Serve Others”. Jesus washed feet, knowing His time was near to go to the Father. Jesus humbled Himself, modeling serving others. This also shows how Jesus cleans sin from souls. Only He can cleanse us. When we choose to follow Him, we are justified, just as if we’d never sinned. His grace covers all sins, past, present, and future, leading us to grow in a relationship with Him. He calls us to cleanse souls and to wash feet. The most loving thing we can do for someone is to share the Gospel, but we must first serve one another, humbling ourselves as Jesus did. Find people around you to love and to serve, even if it is uncomfortable. Even when we disagree, let us love one another. Living the character of Christ is contagious. Humble yourself, following Jesus’ example, and be blessed. We are all sinners, but Jesus invites us, wherever we are, to be cleansed and to receive salvation. Choose to serve! There is a blessing in following His footsteps!

As a family of God, we worship Jesus as Lord. Through His love and life we can know love, live eternally and receive forgiveness. On Mother’s Day we gathered to worship our loving and nurturing God who like a mother knows and loves us unconditionally. We honored our mothers with a beautiful flower at the end of the worship service. Rev. Nancy Gillard brought the message Life From the Cross from Matthew 27: 50 – 54. The anthem this week was “My Friend, Do Not Forget”.
The “Dresses and Shorts for African Children” project continues. Stop by and check the collection in the church foyer. If you would like to help with this endeavor, all the supplies you will need are in the foyer. Ask a PW member for help with questions.

Mt. Calvary Apostolic Pentecostal
1Pe 4:17-19.
If you see that someone is in danger, intervene and help, be it spiritual or physical. Satan can present himself as a righteous minister who will try to sneak up on you and misinterpret God’s words.
Judgement must start at the house of God for believers because God is going to judge the believers first.
Rev 11:18.
We will all stand before Christ to be judged. Therefore, we should not judge our brother. Tells us in 2Co 5:10.
Rev 20:11-14.
To Judge: form a judgment or opinion of; decide upon critically. One who makes judgment.
If God says do not judge, Don’t do it.
Mat 7:1-2.
We should not, pass judgement regarding anything. For example, what someone eats. It tells us in Mathew 7:15-20
Mathew 7:15-20.
We don’t judge, but learn who they are by their fruit because it will come out.
Show them in the bible what the word says.(Ephesians 2:5-11)
Misjudge: To form a wrong opinion or conclusion, to judge wrongly or unfairly.
Jesus was misjudged. They accused him of blasphemy and said he needed to be crucified. (John 7:14-24)
Many people were sent to prison for wrong judgement. To misjudge creates problems and does not solve them.
God Bless.

Baptism is God’s work, not ours.
All believers are born enemies of God, dead in sin and without faith. By nature, we don’t have the inclination or ability to believe in Jesus. Through Baptism, along with the preaching of the Gospel and the sacrament of Holy Communion, God creates and strengthens His faith in us. It is a free gift, not the result of our own reason or personal decision to believe.
Do you have faith in Jesus as your Savior? Praise God! You did nothing to earn it, and did not cooperate in any way to obtain it. It was all God’s doing, and His alone. Thank God daily for your faith and the work he has begun in you!
“And I am sure of this, that He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. Phil. 1:6.

Urich Baptist
Sunshine warmed our hearts on this Mother’s Day Sunday. Clint Keeney rang the church bell. Mrs. Julia Klinefelter led in the congregational singing with Mrs. Dixie Collins playing piano. Randy Vogt and Clint Keeney collected the offering.
The scripture passage from interim Pastor Steve Sowell’s sermon was from 1Peter 4: 12-19. In this passage we are reminded that all Christian’s will experience trials in our lives that will test our faith. We are to rejoice in the Lord even when going through tough times. We are to live daily for Christ by sharing His love, patience, in all our actions, not being a meddler in other people’s business, repenting of our sins, and asking the Lord for forgiveness when we fail. May your week be filled with sharing kindness and love.

Valley Center United

Stephanie Neuenschwander thanked everyone who helped make the homemade ice cream for the youth fundraiser on Saturday. And special thanks goes to those who hand cranked those 5 gallon freezers! It was a great success!
When Jesus told the disciples of what was going to happen in the days before and after his Resurrection, they wondered, “What do we do, what will happen to us?” Jesus’ answer to them was to follow his instructions and go to all people and make them disciples, you will receive the power and the hope to go on.
The resurrection tells us about Jesus unifying with us. He gave everything he had to the people, his wisdom, healing and love. He brought hope into our lives. The ascension of Jesus tells us about his unity with God. When he was lifted up, he sat down at the right hand of the throne of God and put in his place of the trinity of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
During our lives we may also wonder what do we do. Where do we invest the grace that is given to us. It is because of Jesus’ resurrection, we have our answer. Jesus came in to the world as flesh and blood and with all the feelings of compassion, sadness, love and irritation. He knew by dying on the cross and rising up again, we could receive forgiveness and eternal life. Jesus has called us to be his disciples and to go out and announce to the world of the good news. He is united with God to bring his presence into this world.
When we turn our lives over to Jesus and invite him into our hearts, his love will never fail us. We will be united with Jesus forever and ever. Amen
