Clyde Duane Miller

Clyde Duane Miller, age 89, of Warsaw, passed away Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach, Missouri.

Duane was born on January 17, 1937, in Windsor, Missouri, the son of Clyde Smith Miller and Thelma Viola (Witt) Miller. He grew up in Sedalia and graduated from Smith-Cotton High School in 1955. Following graduation, he proudly served in the United States Army from 1955 until his honorable discharge in 1958.
On June 5, 1959, Duane married Carolyn Denny in Sedalia, Missouri. Together they shared more than 66 years of marriage and built a life grounded in family and service.

Duane earned his bachelor’s degree in Social Studies Education from Central Missouri State College. He began his career teaching in Otterville and later in Lexington. He went on to work with Family Services as a social worker, dedicating his professional life to supporting children, families, and older adults. In 1980, he moved to Warsaw to serve as Director of Social Services and later worked with the Division of Aging in Clinton, where he remained committed to helping others in his community.

Duane enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, reading, and traveling. He was an avid fisherman who loved spending time outdoors and appreciated the quiet moments found in nature. He also valued time spent with his family and took pride in watching it grow through the years.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Miller, of the home; four children, Steve Miller and his wife Sheryl of Jefferson City, Missouri; Suzanne Denomme and her husband Mike of Pilot Grove, Missouri; Cary Miller of Boonville, Missouri; and Kevin Miller of Sedalia, Missouri. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren; two brothers, William Miller of Independence, Missouri, and Scott Miller of Sedalia, Missouri; two sisters, Marlene James of Independence, Missouri, and Patricia Estes of Sedalia, Missouri; along with several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Graveside services and Military Rites for Duane Miller will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 27, 2026, at Laurel Oak Cemetery in Windsor, Missouri.

Arrangements are under the direction of Reser Funeral Home, 101 W. Main Street, Warsaw, Missouri.

Duane will be remembered for his dedication to his work, his love of the outdoors, and his deep commitment to his family.
