Cole Camp Chamber Thanksgiving Meal Celebrates Successful Year

Posted

Cole Camp Chamber members gathered for an evening of fellowship as the end of year 2024 approaches. Only two Chamber events remain on the Calendar. The long running and highly anticipated Christbaumfest (The Celebration of Trees). The craft fare proceeds Thanksgiving week and really kicks off the Christmas Shopping Season.

The Main focal point is the basement of the Lutheran school on the south end of Maple Street but also spills over into the Jaycee House and the downtown shops. Even the Museum is open in case some one needs an item from the gift shop, such as an area history. Book. The German Club’s Red history is available for purchase as well as the wonderful black history published by the Historical Society.

The remaining Chamber event is the Christkindelmarket on 6 that seems to keep getting bigger with every passing year. With the lighted “live scenes in the store windows’ to the caroling, Santa Claus, cookies and the “Pick-a-Pocket lady, there is something for every age.

The Chamber members enjoyed a traditional Thanksgiving meal of ham, turkey, dressing mashed potatoes and noodles prepared by Roxy Viebrock and Sam Cole. The meal was served in “The German Table” and also included many different dishes brought by the attendees.

The regular meeting was by-passed but Roxy did give an update on Christkindemarket and what places still needed volunteers. She passed around a sign-up sheet.

There will be a regular meeting on December 10 at The German Table at noon. There will not be a January meeting.
