Presiding Commissioner Steve Daleske called the meeting of the Benton County Commission to order on December 16 at 9:00 AM. Commissioners Larry Berry and Scott Harms were present. David Malecki was also present.
The Commissioners continued preparation of the 2025 budget, reviewing information that has been submitted by officials and department heads. Presiding Commissioner Daleske also noted that the meeting that was scheduled today with Sheriff Knox has been rescheduled to Wednesday due to a family emergency.
District 1 Commissioner Berry made the motion to approve the bid for unleaded gasoline for Road District #1 from Warsaw Oil Company at a cost of $2.32 per gallon. District 2 Commissioner Scott Harms seconded the motion. Motion passed. Other bids were received from Zollicker Oil Company at a cost of $2.35 per gallon and from MFA Oil Company t a cost of $2.56 per gallon. The Commissioners accepted the low bid price.
District 1 Commissioner Berry made the motion to approve the bid for diesel fuel for Road District #1 from Warsaw Oil Company at a cost of $2.68 per gallon.
District 2 Commissioner Harms seconded the motion. The motion passed. Other bids were received from Zollicker Oil Company at a cost of $1.71 per gallon and from MFA Oil Company at a cost of $2.67 per gallon. The Commissioners accepted the bid most advantageous to the County.
The Commissioners discussed the adoption of a resolution that would allow for allegiance compensation for County employees. Commissioner Harms made the motion to approve the Resolution as presented and to adopt a criterion under the American Rescue Plan Act Fund to allocate payment to employees. Commissioner Berry seconded the motion. The motion passed.
County Clerk Susan Porterfield submitted bills for approval and payment. She also noted that a budget amendment has been scheduled for December 30 at 10:00 AM.
