Benton County Presiding Commissioner Steve Daleske called the November 18 meeting of the Benton County Commission to order at 9:00 AM. Those in attendance included District 1 Commissioner Larry Berry, District 2 Commissioner Scott Harms and visitor David Malecki.
Presiding Commissioner Daleske stated that Randy Pogue had resigned from the Transportation Advisory Commission (TAC). Commissioner Harms made the motion to appoint Eddie Simons to fill this vacancy. The motion passed.
E-911 Director Jessica Mayfield met with commissioners to discuss the current system that is utilized for radio communication with the sheriff’s office and all emergency departments within the county the need that exists to upgrade this equipment. Major Dean Noll was also present. A telephone conference call was conducted with Drew Steward of CentralSquare to discuss options and cost projections for a new system. Further discussion will continue in this matter.
The commission began preparation of the 2025 budget. Salary and benefits for employees for fiscal year 2025 was discussed. Each official and department head will meet with commissioners to discuss their 2025 budget requests.
Benton County Treasurer Rick Renno presented his weekly financial report and the County Clerk Susan Porterfield submitted bills for approval and payment.
